During this event, the nuts and bolts behind speech production will be discussed, and insights shared into commonly observed issues singing students and singers present with when they present to the voice clinic. You will have opportunities to explore practical activities to promote a healthy voice for speech, and discuss how to support your students if they are encountering difficulties.

Sally Dennis is a Voice Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with 18 years’ experience working with individuals experiencing voice difficulties. She has particular interest in voice therapy and vocal rehabilitation for Professional Voice Users (including Singers, Actors and Teachers) adopting a goal focussed approach to improving vocal health and function. She currently works as Voice lead at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeing patients in diagnostic laryngoscopy voice clinics and for voice therapy treatment, and see’s patients in a dedicated voice clinic for performers and professional voice users together with Vocal Rehabilitation Coach Carrie Birmingham. She also works independently accepting private referrals.

Sally has been committed to developing her practice and engaging in continued professional development over her working career, including British Voice Association and British Laryngological Association conferences and courses. She volunteers as co-secretary of the North West Voice Clinical Excellence Network whereby she identifies and arranges training opportunities for voice therapists in the region to support ongoing professional development.
