About Lorraine Worley
Trained as a chorister in Leicester, Lorraine won a City of Leicester Scholarship to study with Stanley Asher. She later studied with Norma Burrows in Birmingham and also in teacher training at St. Peter’s Teacher Training college with Harry Jones and Barrie Grayson.
Her operatic roles include Amneris in Aida, Magenta in The Bartered Bride, Lady Billows in Albert Herring and leading roles in all of Monteverdi’s operas including Penelope in The Return odyssey Ulysses and Ottavia in The Coronation of Poppea.
Lorraine sang regularly as a recitalist adjudicating songwriting competitions for the English Poetry and Song Society and was a founder member of the Spanish Renaissance Band, Tamburrini, performing at the London Early music festival, Brighton and Bath Festivals.
One of Lorraine’s passions is conducting award winning Youth Choirs and is currently employed at The Bristol Cathedral Choir School and Backwell Academy as a long-standing singing teacher. Lorraine also has a private practice in Weston Super Mare.
Lorraine has an LRSM in performance. More recently as a founding student of the now Voice Study Centre, Lorraine gained a distinction PgCert. In Applied Professional Practice, an MA in vocal Pedagogy and more recently an ITOL Certificate in Applied Neuroscience and Voice which she claimed was the ‘icing on the cake’ of her studies to date.
