AOTOS Autumn Conference

Please join us for our 2024 Autumn Conference: ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’

The conference will be held at our perennial favourite venue, the beautiful St Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith, London.

This conference will explore different famous breathing methods, all of which started as general breathing techniques for health and speech that were so successful that they have been adapted over the years by experienced singing practitioners for use by singers.

There will be inspirational presentations and practical workshops throughout the day, with take-home skills for you to use in your teaching studios, and ideas for new directions to develop your vocal technique and those of your students.

Pamela Hay

Come and join us, and settle that most persistent of questions: “how do I support the voice?”

We would love to see you there.

Abstract call out

We invite submissions for a 15-minute mini-presentation that concerns any aspect of singing teaching, singing within music education or work with the sung voice, although particular interest will be paid to submissions that link to our topic of breathing. Abstracts should be no more than 500 words and be referenced using the system of your choice.
The deadline is Monday 9 September 2024, and successful applicants will be notified by the 5 October. This invitation is open to everyone, regardless of AOTOS/EVTA membership.
Submissions do not need to come from an academic institution and you do not need to have a particular qualification to submit. Abstracts must be anonymous – please do not mention your name and submit these with a cover sheet that must include your name, membership number and abstract title. Abstracts submitted without this will not be considered. Your submission will be blind judged by a panel.
