Zoom Events

An unexpected positive of the Covid-19 pandemic for AOTOS was the prompt to take events online for the first time to continue connecting with members at events and to reach those who had not attended in-person for many reasons.

We continue to programme live webinars which are open to all as well as free online events for AOTOS members, with many recordings saved in the Resources library. Please note, you will need to sign in to access these.

Enormous thanks to all our presenters who have offered their services without charge to our charity.

Harnessing the Power of Emotion in Singing Teaching

The next session in our 2024 autumn series is a practical online workshop with Louisa Morgan.

We all know that emotion is a powerful thing. For many, it’s what brings them to music. But how do we use it with our singers? And is it a help or a hindrance? This hour-long workshop for singing teachers, offering some exercises and tips for harnessing emotion, is hosted by Louisa Morgan, a lecturer, researcher, voice and singing coach.

Body Bias in the Vocal Studio

The first session in our 2025 series is a brief introduction to body bias with Jo Reader.

This will be an opportunity to consider how weight stigma impacts both teacher and student in and out of the vocal studio and to explore how societal expectations and attitudes about body size can make it difficult to remain consciously non-judgmental.
