Our teaching faculty are your main guides and support during the week. They introduce themselves to you here –

Paul DeeganPaul Deegan has been Chairman of AOTOS twice, and is an Honorary Life Member of the European Voice Teachers Association. Originally trained as a primary school teacher, his distinguished career as tenor and teacher took him to being Head of Voice at the Royal Irish Academy in his native Dublin. He is strongly committed to the Teacher Training course and looks forward to offering help and thoughts on teaching to another group of participants.


Veronica Veronica Veysey Campbell’s varied schedule includes teaching choral scholars at Cambridge University, young singers at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and the St Paul’s Cathedral Choristers. She is director of the vocal course at ‘Musicfest’ International Summer School in Aberystwyth, and is a regular tutor for the National Youth Choirs of GB and other courses. Veronica is in demand for her master classes and is a regular presenter at voice conferences. She has recently served as a director of the British Voice Association. She is co-author with Liza Hobbs of ‘Changing Voices’ a book of songs for the changing male voice, recently published by Peters Edition.Veronica is delighted to be a mentor on the Teachers’Training Course. It promises to be a wonderful, invigorating week of shared knowledge.


Liza HobbsLiza Hobbs, a past Chairman of AOTOS, teaches students of all ages and stages, both privately in Sussex and London, and also at the Junior Department of the RCM, Millennium Performing Arts and at Battle Abbey School.  Past posts have included more than a decade working for Morley College (adult education), at the Actors Centre and at a whole variety of schools and performing arts establishments.  Her teaching experience therefore ranges from children and teenagers to young, middle aged and elderly adults, both in classes and one-to-one, and from the “singing for fun” category to professional and aspiring professional singers.  Alas, when she started out as a teacher, there was no confidence inspiring AOTOS teacher training course in existence, and all her early learning was done at the School of Hard Knocks.


Coral GouldCoral Gould  MBE. LRAM, ARCM, LTCL, (Cert.Ed) is currently a private singing teacher, examiner and accompanist. Formerly, she taught music in both state and independent schools and she was on the staff of Birmingham Junior Conservatoire for 8 years. She has taken part in the Kodaly Festival in Hungary and also undertook an exchange teaching period in the USA. From 2010- 2012 she was Chairman of the Association of Teachers of Singing. She has directed over 50 musical theatre productions.Her book Try Humming it has been a successful aid for new teachers of singing and is now in its second edition. AOTOS is dedicated to the sharing of experience, ideals and knowledge. The TT Course has developed with this in mind. Mentor teachers share years of experience which have brought good results in all genres of singing. Come to join this week for improvement in your skills and confidence in your work.
