Trinity College London’s 2023 Singing syllabus
Trinity College London present their 2023 Singing syllabus. Led by singing specialist examiner, Luise Horrocks, and Sector Support Manager (Music & Partnerships), Natalie Christopher, the session will outline the syllabus’ exciting updated features, showcase our new range of accompanying publications, and highlight a selection of their favourite additions to the repertoire lists.
Luise Horrocks
After early studies on the piano and clarinet, Luise graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English before moving on to study singing on an Advanced Studies Course at the Royal College of Music. After studying, she performed extensively as a soprano soloist throughout the UK and Europe, specialising primarily in oratorio.
Luise has held teaching positions in both Junior and Senior departments of Birmingham Conservatoire, and as a visiting lecturer at Birmingham University. She now teaches at Keble College, Oxford, runs an extensive private teaching practice and is regularly asked to give Master classes, choral workshops, presentations and teacher sessions both at home and abroad. As Associate Chief Examiner in Music, Luise was instrumental to Trinity’s syllabus development and the training and standardisation of the examiner panel. Now working as a freelance consultant, she continues to have special responsibility for singing at Trinity. In 2016 she was awarded an HonTCL.
Natalie Christopher
Having studied violin and piano, Natalie went on to study Music at Oxford Brookes University. Her career in music education started at Kent Music where she was responsible for managing a number of music centres and organising events such as the Thanet Rotary Schools Prom. She has been at Trinity for nearly 10 years where she is responsible for advising customers, creating support content and managing the Certificate for Music Educators qualification.
