South East Area 2022 Professional Development Day
No dots? No problem!
with Charles MacDougall, Anne Bradley and Kate Gildea
Sunday 15 May 2022
St Bede Church of England Primary School, Winchester
A day of exploring ways to develop students vocal abilities away from notation. We will look at confidence building exercises that can be used in a variety of settings from individual lessons to small and larger groups. How to link warm ups and move them on to vocal exploration and improvisation. Our speaker for the morning session is acclaimed vocal performer and animateur Charles MacDougall whose experience ranges from many years singing with VOCES8, being an ambassador for Friday afternoons and much much more. There are two
homegrown presenters for the afternoon sessions: Anne Bradley will give us an introduction to Kodaly and how this can really develop and support aural learning, and Kate Gildea will bring her ‘5 improvisation sentence starters’ session for us – how to give simple building blocks for successful grass roots improvisation.
Nick looks forward to welcoming you for a fun day packed full of singing!
