A practical day looking at efficiency and interaction of the speaking and singing voice including tools and techniques for releasing our voices, starting with the spoken voice and ways to improve singing performances through work on text.

Timings

• 10.30am–5.00pm

10.30: Registration and coffee
11.00: Session 1 – Assessing the Voice – taking a case history and demonstrations of practical assessment tasks.
12.30: Lunch (please bring your own or buy from a range of local options. There will be space to sit together to continue discussions.
1.30: Session 2 – Have a go on each other. Discussion and exercises to try out and skill swap.
2.30: Session 3 – Watch an assessment with a singer, see the tools shared in the first sessions put into action.
3.15: Coffee break
3.30: Session 4 – A chance to observe and participate in an assessment with another singer.
4.15: Plenary session with Q&A
5.00: End

• Tea, coffee and water provided at registration and lunch break
• Lunch is not provided: you may bring your own lunch, use the on-site cafe or another local option

Cost

• Members: £45
• Member plus guest: £80 (£40pp)
• Non-members: £70
• Students: £20
