About Sally Cathcart
Sally Cathcart is a musician, teacher and researcher who is involved in many aspects and levels of music education. She has spent many years working in both junior and senior school music departments as Head of Keyboard and Director of Music. She has wide experience of classroom teaching and has taught all ages, from 3 to 18 years old. She is a qualified Kodály teacher; a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship to visit South Africa, Hungary and Cuba has led her to a deeper understanding of the benefits of an ear-led approach to instrumental teaching
Sally is also a choral conductor and her children’s choirs in the past have sung at the Royal Albert Hall and been finalists in the Choir of the Year competition. Until July 2014 she was music director of InCantata, a female choir based in Berkshire. In August 2013 she was appointed Director of Development for the Voices Foundation.
