Lucy Sealy began her working life as PA to the Director of Opera Planning at English National Opera and it was there that she began to take a serious interest in the voice. She later took a BA in Music and English; studied singing with Mollie Petrie. She took the AOTOS teacher training course when it was based at Harrow, and then a course on the Accent Method with Dinah and Sara Harris.
She gives regular concerts with her husband, Marcus Sealy, a sub-organist Bath Abbey; she also performs with her sister’s quartet, and in poetry and song evenings with Jean Crowther.
She has been teaching singing for more than fifteen years and her pupils range from eight to eighty in age, with an equally wide variation of musical tastes. Her musical tastes vary enormously across all the genres and are challenged regularly by her teenage daughter!
