Andrea Calladine has a varied career as performer, teacher, conductor and adjudicator. She studied initially at the Birmingham School of Music (now Birmingham Conservatoire), gaining honors in Diplomas and awarded many major prizes. As a singer, she has travelled widely at home and in Europe performing from her wide concert and oratorio repertoire and she has made radio broadcasts.
Her teaching commitments are divided between a very busy private practice, where she coaches many professional singers and a leading independent school. She is also in demand for choral workshops. Other positions held have been at the Birmingham Conservatoire (where she was a tutor from 1985 to 2009), Birmingham Junior Conservatoire, the Elgar School of Music, and Worcester University.
She is an active adjudicator member of the British and International Federation of Festivals. She is also a member of the Association of British Choral Directors, the Association of English Singers and Speakers and the Incorporated Society of Musicians, as well as organising conferences for AOTOS.
