Liza Hobbs
Past Chairman
<<Back

Liza Hobbs has worked in a variety of different spheres as a singer: as opera chorister, member of the Ambrosian Singers and London Voices, and as a free lance soloist. Her interest in the theatre led to spells in musicals in both the West End and in the regions, as well as frequent forays into pantomime, music hall, cabaret and dance band music. She still continues to perform, but mostly in the area of light music, and in recent years has given numerous performances (with actor Michael Chance) of some small scale devised shows: “The Master’s Voice” (Noel Coward), “Going for a Song” and “Victoria Plums”.

Teaching has more and more taken over her time. She has a private practice near Eastbourne in East Sussex and in London, is a Singing Teacher at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and Millennium Dance 2000 School, gives classes at Morley College in London, and runs Eastbourne Singing Weekends.
